How to Receive your NFT from the GFA NFT Marketplace

Setup your Account
Once it is setup - Choose a username and password
ALSO - your PRIVATE KEY
This is like “bitcoin” (all blockchains have a private key for your wallet / account)
Save this SECURE - if you lose this - or if you share this to someone else - that person can login as you and take your NFT / coins.
Send your wallet address to a GFA community rep
Once your account is made - go to “wallet” and then copy your wallet address
Send that to us and we can transfer you
a) the NFT you are entitled to
b) we can also send you some free coin so you can mint your own NFT there or do other actions.
Use this NFT to either hold (and receive exclusive benefits) such as event tickets in the future, or additional NFTs in the future. By having an NFT, it is truly yours, and we at the GFA community can always support and thank those who are currently holding the NFT. If you sell or transfer to someone else, that person will be the one who enjoys any future benefits at the time those benefits are put into place.

What is an NFT and Why do I Need Them?
We realize a lot of people in the Global From Anywhere, and society at large, as of May 2021, are new to the idea of NFT.
We highly recommend you do study them - as we do believe they are the future of “assets” and ownership.
At Global From Anywhere, we are working on being an early adopter and helping our community also learn about this early on.
So - what is it?
We are making NFTs in the collective space and “event collectible” space - which represents proof of ownership of those items we issue. Because these NFTs we issued we can track - we know who the current owners are (their wallet addresses) and can then grant additional NFTs and incentives going forward.
Example - Our “broken border” collection each represent a ticket to the next Cross Border Summit in person event (whenever the world does open up again!).
Our CBM Blue and CBM gold Event collecitbles represent proof of attendance at the event and we are issuing additional event tickets and gifts to those owners.
It represents a direct relationship between the community / artist and the supporter/ investor.
What is Uptick?
So NFT is the “thing” - but you need a blockchain and a platform to create the NFTs on.
We could have picked Opensea / Ethereum - but we believe our community members do not want to pay the current high gas fees for these transactions. And we also want something that is easy to use and low cost.
Uptick has checked those boxes (or ticked those boxes) - it is on the IRIS blockchain (in the Cosmos ecosystem) which we believe will be easy for people to use (exchanges, other useful blockchains in the network) and IRIS is very affordable price.
It is an app that is made in China, and their mobile verification only works for China phones now. We didn’t know it was a Chinese app during our initial research, but we think that shouldn’t affect the user ability.
So hopefully this makes things a bit more clear. The NFTs are gifted to attendees, and there is no cost for you and we hope this helps. Of course, you can uses it for your own NFTs, buy more IRIS to buy other NFT - and go down the rabbit hole with us as well.
